FARRIER APPOINTMENT SERVICE TEAM, INC.

Member of Farrier Industry Association (FIA)
If I wanted fries and a drink, I would have asked for it!
There is a need to simplify our lives. Simplifying and organizing is almost the same, but not quite. To simplify, you need to toss out excess. To organize, you need to take what you have simplified and make it neat and orderly.
We all want to keep our life and business simple and organized so we can get the most out of both. Habits of disorganization and excess are very hard to break.
For example: You go to a fast food drive-up window and you want a hamburger. The voice over the intercom says, “May I help you?”
You say, “I would like a hamburger, no cheese, no mayo.”
Voice over the intercom says, “Would you like a drink and fries with that?”
You say, “Yes (even though you didn’t want it in the beginning, it now sounds good).”
Voice over the intercom says, “Do ya want it SUPER SIZED?”
You say, “Yeah, why not?”
So now you have not only the hamburger that you originally wanted (with cheese and mayo that you didn’t want), but fries and a drink which are SUPER SIZED!
You are overly full now and miserable because not only did you eat the hamburger, you also ate all those fries. If you are driving to your next appointment, what you didn’t consume of that monstrosity of a drink you most likely spilled down your lap causing a very embarrassing spot on your pants.
Excess disorganized your intent to have something simple and continue through the day.
Would it not have been simpler to say, “If I had wanted fries and a drink, I would have ordered it (or NO)? Just make sure there is no cheese or mayo on my hamburger.”
Four SIMPLE rules your life and business:
- Break habits of excess and disorganization.
- Simplify by tossing out excess.
- Take what you simplified and organize it.
- Keep it organized.

WITH GENTLENESS FOR ALL
At an official reception during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln gave a speech in which he made a polite reference to the Confederates. An elderly lady later scolded him for speaking kindly of his enemies when he ought to be working to destroy them. “Why, Madam,” replied Lincoln, “Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?”
Gentleness is showing consideration to everyone: friends and enemies. Your enemies might someday become your friends.
